Creative F/X at lightning speed
The PlasmaFX filter suite is a collection of cool effects built with Apple's
new Core Image technology. PlasmaFX has 26 plugins that cover a wide range of image processing and synthesis.

Apple's new technology
By using Core Image, we have dramatically speeded up our plugins up, resulting in
real-time or near real-time processing on newer machines. We make full
use of multi-core CPUs or the latest OpenGL graphics cards. Because Core
Image is built into the operating system, all applications benefit,
including apps from Adobe and Apple.
We also take advantage of Apple's new FxPlug
architecture for Final Cut Pro 5.1.2 and Motion 2.0. This results in faster
and more robust operation than plugins using the old non-Apple architecture.
Of course, PlasmaFX also works natively in Adobe After Effects' architecture.
